Povidone Iodine USP Ointment
Use Povidone Iodine Ointment as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
Clean the affected area with warm water and soap, rinse, and pat dry. Using the pad or swab, apply the medicine by covering the affected and surrounding areas with a thin film of medicine. Allow the medicine to dry. The area may be left uncovered, or you may cover it with a sterile bandage.
Wash your hands after using Povidone Iodine Ointment, unless your hands are part of the treated area.
If you miss a dose of Povidone Iodine Ointment, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.
